An introduction to the English Lake District as a background to the study of its literary personalities and especially of Wordsworth and his work. Scenes of Hawkeshead; the Grammar school and the poet’s desk; the village and a May Day Procession; the surrounding hills and lakes. Also of Coniston, Lake Windemere, Grassmere, Dove Cottage, Rydal, and many other places which formed a general background to much of Wordsworth’s work.
