Views of the varied interests of the group of companies associated with Conzinc Riotinto of Australia. Mining iron at Hamersley; lead, silver and zinc at Broken Hill; aluminium at Weipa; uranium at Rum Jungle; and mineral sands at North Stradbroke Island. Treatment of ores, refining of metals, research and exploration in Australia and New Guinea. Intended to replace the film “Mineral Heritage”, released 1965. Shows Australia’s abundant wealth in minerals, and the part C.R.A plays in mining and processing them. Shows the continuing search for new deposits, especially around Papua and New Guinea and in Bass Strait, and research into the potential of the minerals.
