The restoration of the interior of Parliament House, Melbourne is a time-consuming and delicate process-making replicas and replacing the Victorian baroque moulded plaster decorations, applying gold-leaf less than a thousandth of an inch thick, retouching the highlights of the mouldings and repainting the walls and surrounds with the original sky-blue - but the result is both eccentric and splendid
