Stresses the need for international cooperation in developing a universally acceptable law of the sea, so that resource-use conflicts between nations such as the Icelandic “cod war” will not occur in the future. Shows the steps which have already been taken in this direction by countries bordering the North Sea. Suitabel for middle and upper secondary levels.
