Due to raids and clan wars on Easter Island in the 18th and 19th centuries, the men descending from earlier generations died out. Huge sculptures whose origin and meaning are a mystery remain from an earlier strange civilization. Juxtaposes scenes of present day craftsmen and other islanders with the heroic vision depicted in the sculptures.
