Chateau Tongariro is a popular skiing resort near Mt Ngaurahoe, the snow-covered volcanic peak. Shows the hotel and ski huts, lessons on the learners’ slopes, the national downhill course, slalom practice, chair and T-bar lifts, the national ski-jumping championships and speed trials; Cradle Lake and the views from the mountains.
