The film records projects undertaken by the National Research Council of Canada - the launching of helium balloons to measure the ozone layer, cloud seeding to help fight forest fires, a study of the Gaspe current, recommendations to alleviate the St. Laurence Seaway Bottleneck, helicopter transport of trees out of logging sites and the feasibility of rockets to carry scientific instruments into the heart of the aurora borealis.
