Episode number 8 of Series “Landscape with figures: the art of Australia”.
One of a series in which Robert Hughes surveys Australia’s art from the time of the first fleet to the present day. Arthur Boyd and John Perceval had progressed through the ‘angry decade’ and younger painters joined them: Robert Dickerson, Charles Blackman, John Brack, Clifton Pugh and David Boyd, and two greats who were to influence the future, Sidney Nolan and Leonard French.
