The Antarctic Treaty’s aim is to protect the frozen continent whilst allowing peaceful scientific research. Due to renegotiation in 1991, the seven claimants face increasing pressure from a world hungry for the Antarctic’s riches. This video looks at how the people from many countries working there survive in the harsh but stunning surroundings.
