Narrated by Peter Ustinov and based on the Brunhoff books about Babar the King of the Elephants. “Story of Babar the little elephant” introduces us to Babar. After his mother is shot by hunters he runs away to Paris where he is adopted by a kind little old lady. Although he loves her he misses the jungle and returns home where he is crowned King of the Elephants and marries his true love, Celeste. Based on “The Travels of Babar” and “Babar comes to America” episode two follows Babar and Celeste as they travel first by balloon, then whale and ship to America where they become movie stars.
