Alice, a runaway from home, meets on the road Mick, a boy in pursuit of his uncle. Stealing a car they traverse a treacherous stretch of desert road. When the car runs out of petrol they set out on foot only to become lost. With the harsh desert conditions threatening their survival Alice and Mick reflect on their actions and the families they have fled from. Cast includes John Jarratt, Madeleine Blackwell, Bennendine Woods, Donald Dale.
