Based on the novel by Colin Thiele, tells the story of Ernie, a teenager living in Coober Pedy with his no-hoper father. Ernie dreams of re-uniting his separated mother and father with the proceeds from the opal he is going to find one day. His dream, however, becomes a nightmare, when he stumbles across a small fortune in opals … which are then stolen. Rated: G
