Based on the novel, “My Brilliant Career” by Miles Franklin, this is the story of Sybella Melvyn, a sensitive, passionate young woman who leaves the countryside in search of an artistic future. She develops a relationship with landowner Harry Beecham, but is faced with making a decision between less-than-perfect love and independence. Starring Judy Davis and Sam Neill.
