On this video, Joan Sutherland performs mini-versions of Rossini’s Barber of Seville’ and Donizetti’sLucia di Lammermoor’. She first introduces the story of each mini-opera to her three puppet friends. Then, backed by a first rate cast and the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Richard Bonynge, she moves onto the opera stage, complete with elaborate sets and elegant costumes.
