In 1918, Edward Trenbow, a young Australian doctor serving in World War I is assigned to a mental hospital and befriends a German prisoner-of-war, Dr Karl Schneider. From him he learns of the controversial theories of Sigmund Freud but loses interest when moved to a Sydney mental hospital. Stars Corin Redgrave, Arthur Dignam and Judy Morris.
