This adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s novel stars Timothy Dalton as the brusque Mr. Rochester and Zelah Clarke as the small but ‘independently spirited’ Jane. Jane leaves Lowood school, a charitable institute where she has spent the last eight years of her life, and secures a position at Thornfield Hall as a governess - in the employ of the mysterious Mr. Rochester.
