Fran never knew her father, her mother was an alcoholic and she was a ward of the state at age five. Now in her thirties, Fran lives with her three children in suburbia. She is restless and has no intention of settling down. Fran has a way of attracting men and pick ups Jeff, a barman. Their relationship develops to a point where Fran is willing to follow him around the country. Unfortunately, Fran’s three children do not fit in with Jeff’s plans and Fran, blinded by love, dumps them with relatives for a “few days”. A “few days” becomes a few months and the children are placed in a welfare home. Fran’s life then becomes an endless battle with debt collectors and welfare officials, not only fighting for her children but fighting to be loved herself. Cast: Noni Hazlehurst, Alan Fletcher.
