Fred Astaire leads a University orchestra and plays the trumpet while aspiring to great heights. Danny, and his friend and rival, Hank Taylor, vie for Ellen’s affections and a position with the famous Artie Shaw Band. Romance and comedy abound as the beautiful and witty Paulette Godard endeavours to influence her boss, Artie Shaw, into recruiting the talented duo.
