Il Mefistofele is Boito’s best-known work, an opera composed to his own libretto based on Goethe’s work. It was first performed in 1868. This world acclaimed production by Ken Russell, giving a modern interpretation to this opera, was first presented by the Genoese Opera and has toured widely throughout the world. (not subtitled)
