An exuberant Hollywood biography of singer, Al Jolson. The film begins with Jolson’s life as the son of a poor cantor and traces his struggle to become America’s greatest entertainer. It features a great soundtrack of Jolson’s songs including “Mammy”, “April showers” and “You made me love you”. It received an Academy Award for Musical Score and Larry Parks was awarded the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Jolson.
