Episode number 1 of Series “A World of Festivals”.
Oktoberfest began in 1910 to celebrate the marriage of King Ludwig I to Princess Therese and has grown to become the world’s largest beer festival. This program provides an insight into the activities that make up the 16 day festival including the street parade featuring Munich’s brewery bands, the amusement park and the food and beer halls that cater for the 7 million annual visitors.
