The story of Ruth Ellis, a woman tortured by her love for a cruel man who demanded and took from her more than she could possibly give. Her only escape was to rid herself of the terrible pain he caused, so she shot him dead in cold blood. She was convicted of murder and became the last woman in England to be hanged. Starring Miranda Richardson, Rupert Everett and Ian Holm.
