Three folktales narrated by John Hurt featuring live action and characters created by Jim Henson. 1. “Soldier and death” A Russian story of a soldier with a magic sack who captures death and the resulting havoc it causes. 2. “Sapsorrow” A German Cinderella type tale of three sisters. 3. “True bride” A German story of a wicked troll mistreating his orphan servant Anya and a lion with magic gifts who helps her.
