Joan Crawford earned an Academy Award for her portrayal of Mildred Pierce, a mother who devotes her whole life to her two daughters. When Mildred’s husband turns to another woman for solace, she divorces him and opens a successful restaurant, however, when their eldest daughter’s selfishness gets out of hand, both mother and daughter must face the tragic consequences. Also stars Eve Arden, Ann Blyth, Jack Carson and Zachary Scott.
