I spy is a fascinating compilation of British spy films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Lady vanishes”. Included is an interesting comparative analysis of the 1935, 1959 and 1978 versions of “The 39 steps.” “The English roses” spotlights six of Britain’s most beautiful and talented leading actresses in a range of roles which won the hearts of many viewers. Actresses covered include Deborah Kerr, Phyllis Calvert, Margaret Lockwood, Jean Simmons, Patricia Roc and Virginia McKenna. Narrated by Sir John Mills.
