This is the final catastrophic opera in Wagner’s ‘The Ring of the Nibelung’. The redemption of the world through love is achieved at the end of Gotterdammerung, with the annihilation of both men and gods. Conducted by James Levine and featuring Siegfried Jerusalem. Wagner’s “Ring Cycle” consists of four parts in the following order: Das Rheingold; Die Walkuere; Siegfreid and Goetterdaemmerung.
