In a beautifully played ensemble piece four Englishwomen desert their dull and oppressive lives in post World War I London and escape to the Italian Riviera for a months holiday in a majestic castle. Once there, the castle and its magnificent surroundings work a special magic on the four women. Each find their worries slowly disappearing, their personalities changing and together, the four discover a friendship unknown to the likes of any of them before. Stars Miranda Richardson, Joan Plowright, Polly Walker and Josie Lawrence. From the novel by Elizabeth Von Arnim.
