A compilation of nine Cinesound Review and Movietone News newsreels. A history of the newsreel industry in Australia from its beginnings in 1908 up to its demise due to television. The newsreels in this compilation range from the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Phar Lap, Damien Parer’s 1942 ‘Kokoda Frontline’, Miss Australia finalists 1945, the Petrov affair, to the Beatles tour in Australia.
