This seldom seen and often maligned film is a pivotal one in Hitchcock’s career becoming a template for the thrillers to follow. More humourous in tone from Hitchcock’s later more obsessive films, it is replete with his trademark wry touches and unusual characters. Once again an unsuspecting innocent, this time a hobo, accidentally comes across something that places him in jeopardy and faces an encounter with a gang of jewel thieves. Cast includes Leon M. Lion, Anne Grey, John Stuart and Donald Calthorpe.
