Documents the achievements of the Taiwanese people since the establishment of the Republic of China in 1949. The transition was difficult, but through hard work and dedication, Taiwan made its mark on the world marketplace. In the 21st Century, the Taiwanese are dedicated to further developing their “laissez-faire’ economy and democratic reforms.

Our collection comprises over 40,000 moving image works, acquired and catalogued between the 1940s and early 2000s. As a result, some items may reflect outdated, offensive and possibly harmful views and opinions. ACMI is working to identify and redress such usages.
