Filmed at the Point Theatre Dublin to mark the 250th anniversary of the premiere of Handel’s great work “The Messiah.” Conducted by Neville Marriner, the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields orchestra and chorus perform the work with solos by Sylvia Mcnair, Anne Sofie von Otter, Michael Chance, Jerry Hadley and Robert Lloyd. There is a documentary entitled “For ever and ever” at the end of the performance which looks at Handel’s Messiah and its history.
