Annie (Aileen Quinn) makes several unsuccessful attempts to flee the orphange where she lives, run by the alcoholic Miss Hannigan (played to comic perfection by Carol Burnett). With her dog, Sandy, and a cheerful attitude however, life is bearable. Annie’s dream of living with a real family is fulfilled when she is adopted by the billionaire “Daddy” Warbucks (Albert Finney). Her new lifestyle doesn’t run smoothly when Miss Hannigan, eager to get her hands on some of the Warcbuck fortune plots to kidnap Annie. It’s up to Annie’s friends from the orphanage to try and save her! Based on the Broadway musical and “Little orphan Annie” comic strip by Harold Gray, this film includes the hit songs “It’s a hard knock life” and “Tomorrow” performed by an energetic cast.
