Most Australian woodlands are dominated by trees of a particular group - the eucalypts. Familiar to all Australians these distinctive trees have a number of special characteristics that set them apart, and these unique characteristics provide a wealth of challenges and opportunities for the birds that inhabits Australian woodlands, resulting in one of the richest and most diverse bird communities on the continent. This video focuses on the life histories and special feeding behaviours of 23 species of Australian woodland birds. Birds discussed are: Yellow Robin; Laughing Kookaburra; Grey Burtcherbird; Rufous Songlark; Pallid Cuckoo; Rufous Whistler; Rainbow Bee-eater; Sacred Kingfisher; White-winged Chough; Restless Flycatcher; Speckled Warbler; Peaceful Dove; Double-barred Finch; Varied Sittella; White-throated Treecreeper; Shriketit; Fuscous Honeyeater; Spotted Pardalote; Noisy Friarbird; Regent Honeyeater; Scarlet Honeyeater; Painted Honeyeater; Mistletoe Bird.
