Humphrey Bogart portrays District Attorney Martin Ferguson whose efforts to crack an organised crime syndicate are jeopardised by the suicide of his sole eyewitness on the eve of the trial. Ferguson has only 12 hours to prepare a new case in order to bring crime boss Albert Mendoza (Everett Sloane) to justice. A suspenseful thriller written by Martin Rackin and based on the ‘Murder Inc.’ case. Cast also includes Zero Mostel, Ted De Corsia, Roy Roberts and Lawrence Tolan. Music by David Buttolph, cinematography by Robert Burks and editing by Fred Allen.
