Chapters can be read on screen and cover big band jazz, jazz piano in the 1930s and 1940s, the New Orleans scene and women in jazz. A video gallery includes performances by Louis Armstrong in his first European tour, Duke Ellington and His Band performing “Sophisticated lady”, Count Basie and “I Left my baby” for the CBS TV broadcast of ‘The Sound of Jazz’ and Billie Holiday singing “Fine and mellow” at the same broadcast. There are discussions with jazz critic and historian Dr. Herb Wong as well as with musicians Dave Brubeck, Tee Carson and Shorty Rogers.
