A survey of the task of building still facing Britain - as a result of war-time destruction and also of modern progress in social standards. Millions of new houses, schools and public and private buildings and structures of all kinds are needed to replace the bombed and the outworn, and every use is being made of labour, machinery, and the extensive resources of civil enginerring.
