The battlefields of the Border Country, the Lowlands and the rugged Highlands of Scotland have provided the inspiration for the works of Robert Burns, Walter Scott, Stevenson, Defoe and others. Picturing scenes from these various parts of Scotland, the film provides a background for the study and appreciation of the stories and poems of Scottish writers.
