The training of recruits at the Flinders Naval Depot. Basic training given to all recruits in seamanship, fire-fighting and damage control. The training ships and the facilities of the Depot for self-improvement - library, common room, theatre, chapels, sport. Some of the thirteen special schools - naval gunnery, electrical, engineering and advanced seamanship.
