This film takes place in 1810 England. The hero is Barnaby Barty (Douglas Fairbanks Jr), son of a country innkeeper who is wrongly accused of theft during a visit from Royalty - the Marquis of Camberhurst and his son, Lord Chichester (Basil Sydney). To prove his dad innocent of a crime, Barnaby poses as a famous bare-knuckle gentleman prizefighter. He travels to London and gets involved with London society, royalty, murder and intrigue in his quest to save his father. Based on a novel of the same title by Jeffrey Farnol. Cast includes: Elissa Landi, Margaret Lockwood, Coral Browne, Irene Browne, Gilbert Davis, Gordon Harker, Esme Percy, Frank Pettingell, Athole Stewart and Hugh Williams.
