Walt Gibson, “Gib”, is a college freshman from the East Coast obsessed with “scoring”. After striking out with fellow student, Alison - the control freak, he decides to head west to California after his best friend assures him of a “sure thing”. What Gib doesn’t know is that Alison is also planning a trip to California to visit her stuffy fiancee. They end up sharing the same ride and misadventures, which ultimately draws them together. Cast includes: John Cusack, Daphne Zuniga, Boyd Gaines, Tim Robbins, Lisa Persky and Anthony Edwards.
