ROME FALLS TO ALLIES focuses on the liberation of Rome by Allied soldiers. Shows: tanks advancing into Rome; Lieutenant General Mark Clark Commander of the 5th Army; arrest of Fascists and capture of prisoners; Pope Pius XII leading a thanksgiving prayer at St Peter’s Square in the Vatican. INVASION OF FORTRESS EUROPE follows the Allied forces as they cross the English Channel and land on the shores of Normanby to defeat the Germans’s Army impregnable coastal defenses. Includes footage of Lieutenant General Louis A. Brereton, Lieutenant General Omar M. Bradley, General Eisenhower and Allied Field Commander General Montgomery.
