The latent wealth in mineral deposits in north-west Western Australia is being exploited nowadays by large commercial combines, assisted by the Department of Mines. Modern drilling rigs, mining camps and mobile laboratories are used in the work to extract iron, copper, tin, blue asbestos, white asbestos, manganese, tantalite and other minerals.
