Shows the work that ordinary untrained volunteers do as opposed to trained professionals in helping the mentally ill. Shows the Personal Emergency Service in operaiton, and how specially trained volunteers man the telephone and answer calls for help. Dr Dax tells how volunteers help rehabilitate the mentally ill at the Kew Mental Hospital (Kew Cottages?) and their work is illustrated. Written and introduced by Anthony Evans.
