The inter-relation of marine animals and their surroundings is demonstrated by showing various sea animals and the five general types of foods on which they depend. Marine animals illustrated include the sea anemone, the sea urchin, the barnacle, and the octopus. Types of foods include diatoms, plankton, debris, detritus, seaweed, and other animals. Mentions is made of the specific adaptations of marine animals for obtaining one or more of the main types of food.
