On the border of life: glimpses of French biological research

Opens with brief introductions to biology, and then surveys the work of leading French laboratories. The ground covered includes experiments in artificial parthenogenesis, sex determination, suspended animation and research into the secrets of immortality. Commentary by John Barry.
