A demonstration of the method of preparing a plane stone surface by cutting in corners and drafts and finally removing the remainder of the excess stone. A clean face is obtained with the help of sand and york stone and carborundum. From this clean face, adjoining sides can be accurately worked and checked. Tools that are used include the pitching tool, drafting chisel, punch, claw tool and boaster.
