A 9 part television serial about Australian author Alan Marshall, from his childhood and his diagnosis with Polio to his adulthood as he struggles to become a writer. Based on his three autobiographical novels “I can Jump Puddles”, ‘This is the Grass” and “How Beautiful are thy Feet”. Times are tough and the economy is failing. When the factory heads agree that the only way to save costs is to downsize, Alan must use all his abilities to try and save the jobs of his friends in the factory. Eventually Alan decides to leave and return to the country to begin his career as a writer.
