Episodes 7 and 8 of the television series Janus. “Without consent” (52 mins) (directed by Kate Woods) sees Rob Griffin (Felix Nobis) taking a leading role for the Prosecution in a child sexual abuse case. Two young adult sisters claim that they were sexually abused as children by their uncle and are prepared to come to the stand and give evidence. In the meantime, Michael Kidd (Chris Haywood) files for a bail application for Steve Hennessey (Leon Teague) who is in remand on a drug trafficking charge. “Fail to appear” (51 mins) (directed by Julian McSwiney). The night before his court case, Steve Hennessey is charged and taken into custody by the Armed Robbery Squad for an Armaguard robbery. Conflict arises between Peter Faithful (Tactical Response Squad) and the Armed Robbery Squad over territorial rights to Steve Hennessey. Tina (Tracy Mann) faces an uphill battle prosecuting for a client, George Provis (John Paisley), who cannot remember how he was viciously assaulted at a shelter for homeless men. George is an alcoholic who suffers wandering thoughts and memory lapses. Contains some scenes in b&w.
