French cinemagazine items: 1. Connaissance de la France - celebrates France’s 8th century first gothic building, Sants Cathedral, consecrated by Pope Alexander III in 1164. 2. In 1940, France’s National Geographical Institute set out to make a new map of the country, scheduled for completion in 1980. This segment focuses on the project’s progress. 3. Looks at an exhibition of masterpieces hosted by a French regional gallery which will eventually reach the Louvre. 4. ‘Foire de Paris = Paris Fair’ - presents some of the highlights. 5. Visits a bull-ring in Southern France which although controversial, attracts thousands of spectators. Shows the different stages of a bull-fight.
