Cindy (Toni Collette), a baton twirler with the Southern Twirlettes is competing in the Victorian Baton Twirlers competition, her girlfriend Alison (Jenny Apostolou), and boyfriend Peter (Matt Day) in tow. As the results are announced, she questions whether she should continue pursuing “this marching girl thing”, and whether she should continue with Alison or Peter.
